Embellishments, brights and metallics are all thrown in together to create this stunning upcoming collection from Matthew Williamson.

Paper-bag waisted shorts appeared in pastel, metallic shades, teamed effortlessly with a chiffon top.

Pattern is also proving to be a popular trend for SS10, as we can see from Williamson's deisgns here. Perfect for women wishing to embrace in this new trend but are more body conscious than these runway models. Aim for larger, vertical patterns to create a slimming effect, and lighter shades in your slimmest areas to create emphasis to that area.

Nikki Farquharson

Illustrator Nikki Farquharson is my latest find.

She's a 23yr old girl based in London, and her focus is set between communication, colour, pattern and typography.

I find her work fascinating how she uses current digital images and just felt pens to create her designs.

Wildfox Spring 2010

I'm loving this new photoshoot from Wildfox so so much!! It is so truely inspirational for anybody to create a photoshoot based on this theme, whilst to have fun creating it too!! Each photo has it's own reasons and creativity behind it that really catches my eye!! I never get bored from looking through this shoot!

This is most definitly my favourite model from the three girls in the shoot. I love her dark hair, very vampy, and i think it makes her look very pure and really brings out the darkness of her eyes compared to her porcelain skin. Such a beautiful shot of her.
ADORE THIS WALLPAPER!!! I'm going to wallpaper my bedroom in my first house with this!! In regards to the actual photo... The composition is one of my favourites! I really like it when the subject of the photo is stood in the left or right 1/3 of the photograph, and the rest filled with background. I think it makes us appreciate the background setting more and therefore gives the photo more meaning and passion.

It works how each models head it composed in a different angle. It gives the photograph and edgy structure.

Vogue Italia Patterns

I found these stunning images from Vogue Italia by photographer Steven Meisel. I think they're magnificently beautiful, and the mixture of pattern and illustration is balanced perfectly to give the overall image that hand made feel. The washed out use of limited complementary colours used within each image gives them each their own vintage look appeal. Having been heavily influenced by these copies, i'm going to try and re-create my own Vogue front cover using a similar technique.
